Spun helps people rate restaurants and menu items, compare recommendations with friends, and find places to eat. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We may collect the following information when you use Spun:

• Profile and social information, such as friends, friend requests, and activity shared with friends.
• Restaurant and menu activity, such as ratings, notes, visits, saved restaurants, menu items, and preferences.
• Location information, if you grant permission, to help find nearby restaurants or apply distance filters.
• Notification information, such as push notification tokens and notification preferences.
• Search information, such as restaurant search prompts and filter choices.
• Device and app information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the app.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide core app features, including accounts, restaurant ratings, friend features, and recommendations.
• Show ratings and activity to you and, where applicable, your friends.
• Find nearby restaurants when you choose to use location-based features.
• Send requested app notifications.
• Respond to support requests.
• Maintain app security, troubleshoot issues, and improve Spun.

Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate Spun, including hosting, database, authentication, push notification, email, and search-intent processing providers. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

Search prompts may be processed by an AI service to convert your request into restaurant filters. Push notifications may be sent through Expo notification services. App data may be stored and processed through Supabase.

Location

Spun requests location permission only for features such as finding nearby restaurants or applying distance filters. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings. Some location-based features may not work without location permission.

Your Choices

• You can update or remove certain profile, rating, and preference information in the app where supported.
• You can disable push notifications in the app or your device settings.
• You can disable location access in your device settings.
• You can contact us to request help accessing, correcting, or deleting your account information.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Spun, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain app security. If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify account information unless we need to retain it for legitimate business or legal reasons.

Children

Spun is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and provide notice where appropriate.
